  The Olympic Flame passed through Dahlonega and Lumpkin County on July 15,1996. Large crowds were at North Georgia College and State University where a 15 minute ceremony was held. A large crowd was also on the public square as the torch circled the Old Courthouse Gold Mine Museum. A photo review of the Dahlonega Olympic Torch Relay was created soon after the event took place.
